The inventory of St. Vitus Cathedral before it's regothicization

This bachelor work "The inventory of St. Vitus Cathedral before it's regothization" focuses mainly on three topics: The architectural appearance of St. Vitus Cathedral in the period before its neo-gothic completion, inventory in this temple focused on Baroque art, and life and cult of St. John of Nepomuk, who is a very important person for the St. Vitus Cathedral, as many artworks in the cathedral, placed here now or removed earlier, bear the image of the Czech saint, and often come directly from celebrations of his canonization. The aim of the work was mainly exploration and familiarization with the most important works of art from the baroque period, that were located in St. Vitus Cathedral before it's regothization, based on historical descriptions and visual documents, finding out further history of individual work of art, their current deposition, or effort to locate them.

The starting point in examining the involvement of Christians among displaced Germans after The Second World War in the process of post-war reconciliation and establishing cooperation between war-divided peoples of Bohemia and Germans, in the field of cultural and scientific cooperation. Notable achievements included travelling exhibitions to mark 250 years since the beatification, 250 years since the canonization and 600 years since the martyr's death of St. John of Nepomuk. The exhibitions document the scope of Ackermann Gemeinde and Adalbert Stifter Verein from 1947 to the Velvet Revolution of 1989.

Verbal Expressions of Reverence for St. John of Nepomuk in Vilém Bitnar's Saint-John- Questionnaire The goal of this thesis is a description of verbal expressions of reverence (legends, songs, prayers etc.) for St. John of Nepomuk in the Czech lands, which were collected by Výbor svatojanský in the questionnaire edited by Vilém Bitnar. This questionnaire was sent out to Czech and Moravian parishes at the occasion of the 200th anniversary of canonization of St. John of Nepomuk in 1929 and now it is deposited in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature in Bitnar's estate. The mutual points in the questionnaire are seeked as well as regional specifics. These are situated into context of trends in religious life in the Czech lands in 1920s in general and also of relationship between contemporary Czech society and the Roman Catholic Church with reverence for St. John of Nepomuk. Bitnar's questionnaire is also situated into context of other Bitnar's scientific and publication activities. In this thesis, I would like to dedicate the work of J. G. M. Aichbauer in Šluknov region. The aim is to summarize the current knowledge of all cultural and historical significance.
St. John of Nepomuk: Legend and anti legend in Czech literature

This bachelor thesis deals with the translation of the character of John of Nepomuk. First, it is focused on the character of John of Nepomuk like the historical personality. Second, this thesis describes character of John of Nepomuk like the baroque construct in literary works of Bohuslav Balbin. The thesis also deals with the genesis of St. John's anti-legend. The genesis is observed through long disputes about the character of John of Nepomuk. The translation considers the Nepomuk's legend to be at least as viable as the anti-legend. The proof of this theory that regards the both legend viable, the thesis recognizes in current Midsummer (St. John's) festivities.

Cult of St. John of Nepomuk and selected monuments in South Bohemia

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is the cult of patron saint and martyr St. John of Nepomuk. First I focus on his life and tragic death and then I continue with description of a development of the cult. This part I extend with chapters dealing with Nepomuck's festivities homiletics and songs. Next I examine iconography of St. John of Nepomuk and present examples of portrayal of the saint in solitary scenes and narratives cycles. The following part of the thesis contains comprehensive summary of extensive use of St. John's monuments and it contains presentation of particular churches in Prague and regions of Bohemia. In the last chapter I deal with chronological description of individual St. John of Nepomuk's churches located in South Bohemian Region.
Linguistic analysis of a Baroque Homily

The topic of the diploma thesis is A Linguistic Analysis of a Baroque Sermon. The text, written by Václav Ignác Blovský, dates back to 1724. The diploma thesis continues in my bachelor work. It´s aim was to give the analysis of phonetic and morphological features of the same text. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts - the theory and the research. The first one deals with the author´s life and his work, the cult of St. John of Nepomuk and sermons dedicated to this Czech patron saint in general. The analytical part summaries the results of the previous research and includes the syntactic analysis. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out the level of the Czech language in the early 18th century on the basis of the findings.
